About Prayer Times

Prayer Times computes the five daily prayers from astronomy — the same solar math behind published timetables — for any US city and any date.

Calculated, and honest about it

Every time on this site is calculated in your browser from the sun's position for the date and location you choose, using the standard twilight-angle method (ISNA 15° by default, with other conventions selectable). We label the results calculated estimates because that is what they are: published mosque timetables can differ by a few minutes, and your local mosque's schedule is the one to follow for congregation times.

Why any date works

Because the times come from a formula, not a stored table, you can look up Ramadan next year, the day of a trip across the country, or a date years away — the sun's position is computable for all of them. Time zones and daylight saving are handled with the IANA time zone database built into your browser.
