Prayer Times Calculator — Any US City, Any Date

Fajr, Sunrise, Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib and Isha for 16 US cities or any coordinates — ISNA and other methods, both Asr schools.

These are calculated estimates from the sun's position. Your local mosque's published timetable may differ by a few minutes and is authoritative for congregational prayers.

How the times are found

Each prayer is tied to a position of the sun. Fajr begins at morning twilight (the sun a set number of degrees below the horizon — 15° in the ISNA method), Sunrise and Maghrib at the sun's edge crossing the horizon (with a small correction for atmospheric refraction), Dhuhr just after the sun's daily peak, Asr when an object's shadow reaches a set ratio, and Isha at evening twilight. Your browser computes the sun's position for your date and works each time out from those angles — the full explanation is in our method guide.

Which settings should I use?

Most North American mosques use ISNA angles. Asr is the setting that varies most by school of thought: Standard (majority) or Hanafi (later). If you follow a particular mosque, mirror its method settings here and the times will track its timetable closely, usually within a couple of minutes.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why do times differ between websites?

Different twilight angles (methods), rounding, and occasionally different Asr rules. A 15° vs 18° Fajr alone can shift the time by 15–25 minutes. Compare methods, not just numbers.

Are these times valid for Ramadan planning?

Yes for planning — fasting begins at Fajr and ends at Maghrib. Many communities add small precautionary margins (a few minutes earlier for Fajr, later for Maghrib); follow your local timetable for the official schedule.
